Welcome to the EdLaw Canada help screen. This screen is to help you in using the Research Articles section of the site. You may research articles even if you are not logged in as a subscriber BUT you may not view any of the articles in detail. To see the article text you must be logged in as a subscriber. If you are a subscriber to more than one of our publications you may research each publication by switching to the others using the Publications button. To complete a search make your selections, as noted below, and click on the Search button. To return to the full, browse list, click on the Reset button. Browsing You may research by browsing. The index for each publication is shown in the Research Articles screen. You may scroll down to view the index and all article titles within the index. Clicking on an article title will open the article for you. Category You may reduce the list of articles by selecting a category from the category drop down. You will see a similar index list but it will be restricted to the main category you selected. Volume You may select a volume from the volume drop down and view all articles from that volume. Keyword The keyword search lets you enter one or more keywords. If you select Any Words and search it will return all arcticles which contain at least one of those words. If you select All Words it will return articles which contain all of the entered words. Samples and New Articles You may view sample articles if you are not a subscriber. Select the Show FREE Samples Only check box and click on Search. You may also restrict the list to new articles by selecting the Show NEW Articles Only check box and clicking on the search button. Article Text You may further search the article text by holding down the Ctrl key and pressing the F key. This will give you a popup window where you may type in the word or words you are searching for. These words will then be highlighted in the text. |
